Kannada cinema, also known as Sandalwood, or Chandnavana, is the branch of Indian cinema devoted to the production of motion pictures in the Kannada language spoken in the state of Karnataka. Prashant Neel’s action franchise K. G. F. series is the highest-grossing Kannada film.
Kannada cinema is reported to have an 8% market share in the overall domestic box office collection for the period January to August 2022, making it the fourth-largest Indian film industry.
